GTA 6 on PC
Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November 2026. There is no PC version, no PC date, and no PC system requirements. This page tracks that state honestly: what is known, what we estimate, and how to tell the difference.

Why there is no PC version at launch
Nothing here is inside information - it is the pattern this studio has followed for two decades, stated plainly. Its recent flagship releases have shipped on consoles first and arrived on PC later, as a separate development effort with its own release window. A console launch targets two fixed hardware profiles; a PC launch targets thousands of combinations of card, processor, driver and operating system, and that work is generally done after the console build is finished rather than alongside it.
Credible public estimates put a PC release somewhere in 2027 or 2028. Those are estimates, including ours. If you see a specific date on another site, ask what it is sourced to.
The practical consequence for you is the useful part: the hardware you would buy today is not the hardware you would buy on the day it is announced, and the estimate below exists to tell you whether your current machine is even in the conversation.
These are our numbers, not the publisher's, and they are derived rather than measured. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X share a broadly comparable profile: eight Zen 2 cores at around 3.5 GHz, an RDNA 2 graphics part, and 16 GB of memory shared between the game and the renderer rather than split into system and video memory the way a PC splits it.
That unified 16 GB pool is the single most useful clue. A PC has to hold the same working set in two separate places, which is why our minimum tier asks for 16 GB of system memory and 8 GB of video memory rather than 16 GB in total. The console profile also assumes an SSD streaming the world continuously; that is why the storage figure is what it is, and why a mechanical drive is likely to be a hard failure rather than a slow experience.
For the upper tiers we applied the console-to-PC scaling the studio's previous release showed: a PC needs roughly a tier more hardware than the console it is matching in order to exceed the console's frame rate at the console's settings, and materially more again to run above them.
| Requirement | minimum | recommended | high | ultra |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GPU index | 14 | 26 | 45 | 63 |
| CPU index | 50 | 65 | 86 | 92 |
| Video memory | 8 GB | 12 GB | 16 GB | 16 GB |
| System memory | 16 GB | 16 GB | 32 GB | 32 GB |
| Storage | 150 GB | 150 GB | 150 GB | 150 GB |
What a rig would need to clear each tier
The smallest parts in our catalogue that clear each estimated tier. We hold no price data, so these are ordered by how little hardware does the job, not by cost - and since the estimate itself is unofficial, treat this as a shape rather than a shopping list.

Questions
- Is Grand Theft Auto VI coming to PC?
- No PC version has been announced. The game is confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November 2026, and the publisher has said nothing about a PC release, a PC date, or PC system requirements. Anyone publishing a PC date today is guessing.
- What are the PC system requirements for Grand Theft Auto VI?
- There are none yet, because there is no announced PC version. The thresholds on this page are our estimate, derived from the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X hardware profile and from how the studio’s previous title scaled from console to PC. They are labelled as estimates everywhere they appear and will be replaced with official numbers on the day those exist.
- Should I buy a PC now for it?
- If the only reason is this game, no. A PC release is unannounced and historically these ports arrive well after the console version, by which time the same money buys more hardware. If you want a machine for the games that already exist, the checker on this site answers that question against titles that have shipped.
